The start
Stronghold had it's small start in the mid-90's, in Randaberg, Norway. Eirik and Erlend had just started at the same school, and discovered eachother through a common interrest for metal and guitar. They played together, covering their common favourites, Metallica and later Mortification. Accompanied by a Drum machine named Roland, and youthful enthusiasm, Stronghold was born.

First album
In 98 the first release was made. Due to unfortunate circumstances the demo was recorded by Eirik alone, but it was still a 3 track self made, self printed honest to God demo. The memory of 25 cds spread out on the floor of Erlends appartement, is a true moment in history. Thanks to Paal and nordic mission, the demo was spread from there and unto the world

The years went by
Stronghold continued to rehearse, but due to moving away for school, and such it was at a low pace. During that time a drummer named Stian Fjelde handled the drums in Stronghold. He later retreated due to other priorities. Strongholds second release was "Prayers..." The first and only release on Nordic mission as a record company in 2000. As a result of low activity and time pressure; Once again Eirik recorded alone. Mixed by a friend, Kjartan Vestvik, which also did keys on the album ( Keys in BM... Honestly Kjartan )

Through his involvement in the doom act Implacable, Eirik got to know Kristian and Oyvind. They joined Stronghold as bassist and drummer in 02. The year after, Stronghold played their only gig ever so far. At the seaside festival. Oyvind left Stronghold after the gig.

Later in 2003 Cato moved to Stavanger and joined forces with Stronghold. Cato is also known as the drummer of Aspiration, and other bands. An excellent drummer and musician. His involvement has made a great impact on Stronghold as a band. Though Eirik moved away for academic reason, The rest of the band rehearsed on a relative regular basis.

2004 Stronghold was sceduled to play at Nordicfest, but had to cancel in the 11th hour.

New Recordings
Summer 2006 Stronghold started to lay drum tracks for their upcomming album. And after a long and rather tideous process, Cult of Remorse is ready to be released unto the world. The rest is Future, and is not yet known to mankind
